Forensic Psychiatry Services

Dr. Holmberg is board certified in adult and forensic psychiatry (a sub-specialty of psychiatry that focuses on the interface of law and mental health).  After completing his adult psychiatry residency at the University of Utah, Dr. Holmberg completed a forensic psychiatry fellowship through the prestigious psychiatry and the law program at the University of California-Davis in Sacramento, California. 

Dr. Holmberg has extensive experience serving as an expert witness in both criminal and civil proceedings. He has worked on over 600 cases and is known to be very detailed and thorough in his reports. Dr. Holmberg is an active member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law (AAPL), having served on it's Executive Council. as the 2020 Annual Meeting program co-chair and chair for the forensic Private Practice committee. He currently serves as Secretary for AAPL and sits on the forensic psychiatry Private Practice committee, the Suicidology committee, the Geriatric Forensic Psychiatry committee, the Trauma and Stress committee, Media and Public Relations committee and the Membership committee.  He is also a review editor for JAAPL - the Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.
